Baseball Game Preview: Mandarin Mustangs vs. Atlantic Coast Stingrays

The Mandarin Mustangs will take on the Atlantic Coast Stingrays in a tournament on Thursday. Mandarin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Atlantic Coast's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mandarin saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fletcher, sneaking past 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

The team relied heavily on John Brooks, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Mandarin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Indians 12-2. That's two games straight that the Stingrays have won by exactly ten runs.

Kamari Tamaseu was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Selejan, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Atlantic Coast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mandarin's record now sits at 12-10. As for Atlantic Coast, their record is now 13-8.

Mandarin couldn't quite get it done against Atlantic Coast in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
