Basketball Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

If Standing Bear was feeling good fresh off their 79-22 takedown of Schuyler last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Standing Bear Grizzlies fell 56-48 to the Gretna Dragons on Saturday.

Standing Bear has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Gretna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Standing Bear will face off against York on Tuesday. Standing Bear is facing York at the right time seeing as York is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gretna, they will square off against Bishop Heelan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
