Baseball Recap: West Wendover Drops Highest Score of Season Against Silver Stage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Wendover). Everything went their way against the Silver Stage Nighthawks on Saturday as they made off with a 19-4 win. Considering the Wolverines have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Aidien Rodriguez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Carrillo, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

West Wendover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

West Wendover is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Silver Stage, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.
