Basketball Recap: Logan Ruddy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flanagan-Cornell over Tri-Valley

Flanagan-Cornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 62-50 to the Tri-Valley Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Vikings are ranked 116th).

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Ruddy, who posted 20 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Connor Reed, who went 6 for 15 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Flanagan-Cornell's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tri-Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Flanagan-Cornell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-58 defeat against Heyworth on the 31st. Tri-Valley has also already played their next contest, a 59-37 win against Paxton-Buckley-Loda on the 31st.
