Softball Recap: North Mesquite Takes a Loss

North Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 14-10 to the Adams Cougars. Even if the Stallions couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Angela Calderon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Savanah Oden was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

North Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Adams, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. North Mesquite is set to take on their familiar foe West Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Adams will challenge rival Samuell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
