Buchanan extended their winning streak to nine on Saturday, bumping them up to 9-0. They came out on top against the Shadow Ridge Mustangs by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Keira Nelson paced Buchanan's offense, picking up 12 kills. Nelson got some help from Penny Garcia and her 17 assists. Samantha Aaron and Kendall Spees kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shadow Ridge fell to 7-1. The match marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

Despite the defeat, Shadow Ridge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lea Scott had four digs and two aces.

Buchanan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against El Dorado on the 16th. As for Shadow Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Durango at 6:00 p.m.
