Basketball Recap: Loyd Star Gets the Win

Loyd Star lost to Amite County on January 7th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Loyd Star Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Amite County Trojans, sneaking past 39-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Loyd Star pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Amite County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loyd Star will square off against West Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Amite County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bogue Chitto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bogue Chitto's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
