Baseball Game Preview: Libertyville Wildcats vs. Waukegan Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Libertyville will face off against Waukegan. The Wildcats will take on the Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Libertyville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Libertyville's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Waukegan as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Anthony Fry looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Lockwood, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Harrison Clarkson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Libertyville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Libertyville and bumps their season record up to 19-2.
