Recap: Glenwood Titans vs. Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs
The Glenwood Titans entered their tilt with the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Glenwood took down Mahomet-Seymour 53-39 on Saturday. Given Glenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Mahomet-Seymour is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Glenwood to victory were Ava Bobb and Alexis Neumann. Bobb scored ten points along with two steals, while Neumann scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Karley Hawkins, who scored eight points.
Glenwood's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenwood will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Jacksonville has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will head out on the road to face off against Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Charleston and Mahomet-Seymour are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
