2A Flatirons recap October 29, 2013

The Pinnacle fell to Middle Park 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anthony Estrada was a bright spot for the Timberwolves, as he ran for 128 yards in the loss.

The Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,655 from 12,143. The improvement was the result of a 56-27 victory over Bishop Machebeuf last week.

The Pinnacle's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jon Ecamilla threw for 90 yards and Derek Garcia had 22 yards receiving. On the ground Estrada contributed 128 yards. Hector Venegas helped The Pinnacle's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.

Eric Hahn's team's dynamic duo of Ecamilla and Garcia proved to be unstoppable against the Panthers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Venegas helped The Pinnacle's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.

Estrada was a passing and rushing force as the Timberwolves lost to Middle Park. Estrada's key target this week was Garcia, who caught 4 passes for 22 yards.

The Pinnacle's Venegas and Juan Cortez led 2A Flatirons in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Venegas has thrown for 669 yards this season, while Cortez has 22 catches for 254 yards. Faith Christian's Daniel Langewisch leads the league in rushing yards with 890.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Faith Christian takes on second place KIPP Denver Collegiate.

The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Buffaloes.
