Basketball Recap: Chagrin Falls Wins Going Away Against West Geauga

Chagrin Falls won the last time they faced West Geauga and things went their way on Saturday too. The Chagrin Falls Tigers enjoyed a cozy 56-38 win over the West Geauga Wolverines. The Tigers pushed the score to 42-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.

Chagrin Falls found their leader in freshman Molly Wheatley, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Wheatley. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Kay, who posted eight points along with five boards and five steals.

Chagrin Falls is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for West Geauga, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chagrin Falls will challenge Hawken at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chagrin Falls is facing Hawken at the right time seeing as Hawken is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for West Geauga, they will face off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
