Softball Recap: El Segundo's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

El Segundo had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Crescenta Valley Falcons. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.

Jacy Lindsay looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sienna Mayer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlene Ramos, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

El Segundo pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Crescenta Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Segundo will host Hillcrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Segundo's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hillcrest has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Crescenta Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burbank at 3:45 p.m. on April 1.
