Basketball Recap: Breana Vance's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. John's Catholic Prep over Concordia Prep

St. John's Catholic Prep was the 62-35 winner over Concordia Prep when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings came up short against the Concordia Prep Saints on Friday, falling 45-24. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Breana Vance, who posted seven points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Catie Power, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

St. John's Catholic Prep's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Concordia Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

St. John's Catholic Prep will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Concordia Prep, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atholton at 9:30 a.m. on December 27th.
