Maud hadn't done well against Bowie recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Pirates 10-8. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Pirates last Tuesday, they had to take a 22-7 loss.

Maud's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keira Mangtamag, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Mangtamag has posted since back in April of 2024. Maysun Sanders was another, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Maud's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Bowie, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Maud wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-5 win against Detroit on the 11th. As for Bowie, they have also already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against McLeod on the 11th.
