Hartford Central posted their closest win since January 6th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fort Ann Cardinals 56-53. This was a revenge game for the Tanagers: when they faced off against the Cardinals two weeks ago, they had to take a 55-48 defeat.

Fort Ann lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Javier Hernandez, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 16 points. Marcus Stowhas was another key player, going 9-for-13 en route to 22 points.

The win made it two in a row for Hartford Central and bumps their season record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points over those games. As for Fort Ann, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Hartford Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Ann, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals duke it out with the Jaguars at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
