The Winamac Warriors will head out to challenge the Logansport Berries at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winamac will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Winamac beat Culver Community 9-6.
Adrianna Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Werner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Corrin Combs, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Winamac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Logansport hadn't done well against Western recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Berries blew past the Panthers 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Berries, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Like Winamac, Logansport also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Risley. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Risley was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Logansport let Natalee Packard and Adrienne Scott run wild. Packard went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Scott went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That home run marked the first that Packard has launched this season. Bella Nicoles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Winamac's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.5 runs this season. As for Logansport, their record is now 10-2.
Both Winamac and Logansport just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Logansport struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Winamac suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Logansport when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
