Softball Recap: Greendale Comes Up Short

Greendale dropped their record down to 10-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 13-3 to the Pewaukee Pirates. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 14-9.

Giselle Paszkiewicz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Brinkman, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for Pewaukee, their record is now 9-6. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

On Pewaukee's side, Hailey Hutchens was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Hutchens was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Pewaukee let Harper Gould and Mya Bloedow run wild. Gould went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI, while Bloedow went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Bloedow has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lili Levas, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greendale will take on Indian Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pewaukee, they will square off against Divine Savior Holy Angels at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
