Basketball Recap: Auburndale Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a good run, but Auburndale unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 55-35 to the Lakeland Christian Vikings. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bloodhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-44 back in December of 2024.

Lakeland Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Khloe Overstreet out in front who went 10 of 20 en route to 23 points. Overstreet is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Rudi Jessee was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 20 boards and six steals.

Auburndale's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Lakeland Christian, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Auburndale will head out to challenge Santa Fe Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeland Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m.
