The Vandercook Lake Jayhawks gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jackson Preparatory & Early College 69-32 at home.
Vandercook Lake found their leader in underclassman Jonathon Morgan, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Hunter Fletcher, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonah Payne , who scored 16 points. Logan Mishaw was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Vandercook Lake's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Jackson Preparatory & Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Vandercook Lake will head out on the road to face off against Springport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson Preparatory & Early College, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Factoryville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
