Basketball Recap: Foshay Wolverines vs. Math & Science College Preparatory Sharks
Foshay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Math & Science College Preparatory Sharks and fell 76-45. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-39 back in December of 2024.
Despite the defeat, Foshay saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shomare' Gray posted 15 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Victor Esteban, who put up nine points.
Math & Science College Preparatory got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sterling Keyser out in front who scored 29 points. The game was Keyser's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Sidney Scott was another key player, putting up 19 points.
Foshay's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Math & Science College Preparatory, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
Foshay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against View Park at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Math & Science College Preparatory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horace Mann UCLA Community at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
