Basketball Recap: E'darian Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bolton over Millington Central

If Bolton was riding high fresh off their 101-81 takedown of Craigmont on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bolton Wildcats fell just short of the Millington Central Trojans by a score of 68-65 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Bolton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was E'Darian Washington, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 20 points and four steals. Washington's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kylan Collins was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Millington Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayshaun Dye led the charge by putting up 19 points. That's the most points Dye has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlow Bean, who posted 17 points.

Bolton now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Millington Central, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bolton Wildcats face off against the Ripley Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Millington Central, they will take on Bradford in a tournament on Friday. Millington Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
