Basketball Recap: Redmond Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Redmond, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on the Sammamish RedHawks with a sharp 64-44 win on Saturday. The Mustangs pushed the score to 51-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the RedHawks cut but never quite recovered from.

Barry Morrissette and Rakin Showki certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Morrissette went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points and five boards, while Showki posted eight points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Morrissette's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Nate Pelto was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Redmond's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Sammamish, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Redmond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-50 defeat against Lake Washington on the 28th. Sammamish has also already played their next game, a 74-73 win against North Creek on the 28th.
