Softball Recap: Powhatan Wins Going Away Against Prince George

After only two runs in their last matchup, Powhatan made sure to put some runs up on the board against Prince George on Monday. The Indians put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 15-3 win. With that victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Ava Harper was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Haylee Miller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Powhatan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prince George only posted a batting average of .316.

Powhatan now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Prince George, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powhatan will head out to take on Monacan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prince George, they will square off against Matoaca at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
