Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles

Heritage Academy is a perfect 8-0 against Maricopa Institute of Technology since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Heroes will welcome the Iron Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Heritage Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.5 runs per game this season.

Cristian Morgan made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Morgan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brady Snitker was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sam Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Maricopa Institute of Technology entered their game against Heritage Academy on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Iron Eagles came up short against the Heroes, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Iron Eagles have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, they now have a losing record of 2-3-2.
