It was a good run, but Springville unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 5-0 to the Lewis County Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Springville got a good showing from Matthew Murray, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Murray has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Springville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan King, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Springville's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Lewis County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Looking ahead, Springville will square off against Southside at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lewis County, they will venture away from home to take on Westbrook Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
