Preview: Drake/Anamoose Raiders vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux
Drake/Anamoose has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Westhope/Newburg Sioux at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Drake/Anamoose was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to Parshall/North Shore.
Meanwhile, Westhope/Newburg put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 70-57 win over Bottineau.
It was another big night for Walker Braaten, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Braaten is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Braden Bailey, who scored 19 points.
Drake/Anamoose's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Westhope/Newburg, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Drake/Anamoose took a serious blow against Westhope/Newburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 87-48. Can Drake/Anamoose avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
