Basketball Recap: Port Washington Falls Short of Cedarburg in the Playoffs

Port Washington and Cedarburg squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Port Washington had to settle for second. They fell 68-59 to the Cedarburg Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 44th).

With the loss, Port Washington broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-14. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Cedarburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Port Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedarburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-60 win against Nicolet on the 8th.
