            Softball Recap: Richton Rebels vs. Hattiesburg Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            If Richton was riding high  fresh off their  15-2 takedown of Bay Springs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Richton Rebels fell just short of the Hattiesburg Tigers by a score of  9-8 on Monday. The Rebels were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
 Kailyn Ely made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  she  hit this season.  Kaylee Paris was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.

 Even though they lost, Richton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
Richton's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hattiesburg, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home.
 Coming up, Richton will challenge Bay Springs at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Richton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9  runs per game  this season. As for Hattiesburg, they will square off against Richton at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
