Basketball Recap: Oxford Prep Comes Up Short

Oxford Prep was the 57-50 winner over Eno River Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Oxford Prep Griffins were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 55-54 to the Eno River Academy Bobcats. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Oxford Prep still got an impressive performance from Davis Faulkner, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. That's the most points Faulkner has posted since back in February of 2024. Drew West was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Cole Creedle was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards for Eno River Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Creedle has scored at least a third of Eno River Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Nash Miller, who posted six points along with five assists and three steals.

Oxford Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Eno River Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Oxford Prep has already played their next contest (against Henderson Collegiate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eno River Academy has already played their next game, a 70-64 defeat against Roxboro Community on the 16th.
