Baseball Game Preview: McDowell Titans vs. Erwin Warriors

The McDowell Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Erwin Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McDowell's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, McDowell came up short against T.C. Roberson and fell 6-1.

McDowell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Erwin hadn't done well against North Buncombe recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors walked away with a 7-2 win over the Black Hawks.

Erwin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for McDowell, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

McDowell couldn't quite finish off Erwin in their previous matchup back in March and fell 11-9. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
