Volleyball Recap: Churchill County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Churchill County can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Smith Valley Bulldogs by a score of 2-0.

Leading Churchill County to victory were Destinee Tapia and Layla Walker. Tapia had ten digs and one assist, while Walker had 13 digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most digs Walker has posted since back in October of 2024. Kadence Wiessmer also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Churchill County's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Smith Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Churchill County is taking a road trip to take on South Tahoe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Smith Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Excel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
