Volleyball Recap: Huntington Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Huntington had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Buna Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since October 11, 2024.

Huntington was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-18, 15-3.

Raeley Sebek paced Huntington's offense, picking up 21 kills. Sebek got some help from Mylie Martinez and her 35 assists. Maecie Sebek controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Buna's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Huntington will square off against North Hopkins at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buna, they will face off against Kingwood Park at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
