Baseball Recap: North Schuylkill Spartans vs. Tamaqua Blue Raiders
North Schuylkill had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-11 to make it five. They lost 7-1 to the Tamaqua Blue Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 last Monday.
Hunter Rogers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
As for Tamaqua, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
On Tamaqua's side, Mason Ligenza was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs Ligenza has posted since back in March of 2024.
Looking ahead, North Schuylkill will head out on the road to take on Notre Dame-Green Pond at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tamaqua, they will host Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
