Basketball Recap: North Judson-San Pierre Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Judson-San Pierre can now relate to. They took a blow against the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles on Saturday, falling 62-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bluejays have suffered since November 9, 2024.

North Judson-San Pierre lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Avaree Johnston, who posted 11 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Kyleigh Lehiy was another key player, putting up six points along with six boards and three steals.

Elkhart Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Lily Maxwell, who shot 5-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maxwell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Yordy, who earned 13 points and five steals.

North Judson-San Pierre's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

North Judson-San Pierre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Fremont will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Elkhart Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
