Baseball Recap: Westfield Takes a Loss

Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Nimitz Cougars, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 last Tuesday.

Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Nimitz, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Mustangs coming up. Aldine's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Westfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Nimitz, they will take on Benjamin Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
