Football Recap: Carlisle's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Carlisle was feeling good fresh off their 49-0 takedown of Clarendon last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hampton Bulldogs on Friday. The loss was the Bison's first of the season.

DJ Clarke was his usual excellent self, rushing for 117 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 168 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes for Hampton. Clarke has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Hampton also got help from Braiden Giraud, who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carlisle fell to 5-1. As for Hampton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carlisle is set to take on their familiar foe Poyen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hampton will face off against rival Bearden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
