Basketball Game Preview: Douglass Indians vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

Douglass is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Martins Mill is on a 15-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Douglass Indians will host the Martins Mill Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Douglass is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Frost by a score of 45-33.

Meanwhile, Martins Mill didn't have too much trouble with Tenaha on Tuesday as they won 54-39. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Douglass has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.9 points over those games. As for Martins Mill, their win bumped their record up to 32-2.

Douglass came up short against Martins Mill when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 47-35. Can Douglass avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
