Baseball Game Preview: Arroyo Valley Hawks vs. Fontana Steelers

For the second straight game, Arroyo Valley will face off against Fontana. The Hawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Steelers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arroyo Valley has four straight wins, Fontana has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Arroyo Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Fontana on Wednesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Steelers. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Jake Jimenez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 13 consecutive appearances.
