Volleyball Recap: Hilton Head Prep Comes Up Short

Hilton Head Prep lost against St. John's Christian Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dolphins fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 3-2. While the Dolphins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cavaliers 25-21 in the first set.

Hilton Head Prep started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-12.

It was another big night for Chandler Cumbie, who had 36 kills, 14 digs, and four blocks for St. John's Christian Academy. That's the most digs Cumbie has posted since back in August. Kylie Finley was another key player, getting ten digs, five kills, and two blocks.

Hilton Head Prep dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. John's Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Hilton Head Prep will look to defend their home court on Monday against Patrick Henry Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for St. John's Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pinewood Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
