Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Thomas Jefferson walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 win over the Mars Fightin' Planets on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won four games in a row.

Thomas Jefferson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kane Eggerton, who picked up 124 receiving yards and two TDs. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Eggerton a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Tyler Eber, who rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown.

Thomas Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Eggerton picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Mars lost, don't look at Gabe Hein. Despite the final result, he picked up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Hein's longest reception was for an incredible 88 yards. Colin Yurisinec was another key player, having thrown for 261 yards and two touchdowns.

Thomas Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Mars, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Thomas Jefferson will take on McKeesport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Mars does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
