Softball Recap: Bureau Valley Comes Up Short

Bureau Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.1 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans, falling 10-4. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Kadyn Haage made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Ali Carrington was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Bureau Valley now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season.

Bureau Valley will take on Stark County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Annawan-Wethersfield will be paying especially close attention to the Storm's game: after the Storm face off against the Rebels, they'll take on Annawan-Wethersfield again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
