Basketball Recap: Gateway Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Harmony

Gateway lost to Harmony last Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Gateway Panthers walked away with a 50-39 win over the Harmony Longhorns. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Longhorns are ranked 99th).

The win made it two in a row for Gateway and bumps their season record up to 9-10. As for Harmony, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Heritage Christian School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. As for Harmony, they will be playing at home against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
