Soccer Game Preview: Northridge vs. Marian Central Catholic

The Northridge Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northridge knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Marian Central Catholic likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Northridge made easy work of Chicago Hope Academy and carried off a 7-1 victory. Tommy Cartwright was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marian Central Catholic). Their defense stepped up to hand Winnebago a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Northridge pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three matches. As for Marian Central Catholic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
