Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Meridian's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Meridian can now relate to. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Anthony Bulldogs. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Meridian lost on Monday, don't look at AJ Flenoid. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. Flenoid is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last nine games he's played. Colin Monan was another key player, shooting 43% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 26-9. As for St. Anthony, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-4.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Anthony, they will square off against Chicago Hope Academy at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Chicago Hope Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something St. Anthony surely won't give up without a fight.
