Basketball Recap: Krayton Ruggles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cambridge over Loomis

Cambridge was the 57-54 winner over Loomis when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cambridge Trojans took a hard 60-42 fall against the Loomis Wolves on Tuesday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Krayton Ruggles, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Hodge Raburn, who had 16 points and six rebounds.

Tyson Essex continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Loomis, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Ben Trompke was another key player, going 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points.

Cambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Loomis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Cambridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-38 loss against Cozad on the 19th. As for Loomis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-54 win against Ansley/Litchfield on the 20th.
