Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Mt. Zion Eagles

The Manchester Blue Devils will square off against the Mt. Zion Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Manchester beat Bowdon 63-57. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Dre Mcghee and Jaedyn Terry were among the main playmakers for Manchester as the former posted 24 points and three steals and the latter dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Terry's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Trey Jones was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion entered their tilt with Trion on Thursday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 63-40 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

Manchester's record is now 17-3. As for Mt. Zion, their record is now 18-8.

Manchester couldn't quite finish off Mt. Zion when the teams last played last Friday and fell 64-61. Can Manchester avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
