Softball Recap: Credo Comes Up Short

Laytonville hit Credo with a 11-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gryphon lost 14-4 to the Warriors. The Gryphon were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Aliana Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Miela Beeton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Credo's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Laytonville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Credo will face off against San Rafael at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Laytonville, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Willits at 4:00 p.m. on April 10.
