Basketball Recap: Salmen Comes Up Short

Salmen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 44-27 bruising from the Hammond Tornadoes. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hammond's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Broderick Peters, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Peters has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Terran Perry, who posted nine points and three steals.

Salmen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Hammond, their record now sits at 10-4.

Salmen will face off against Covington at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hammond, they will take on Lakeshore at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Hammond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.
