Basketball Recap: Glenvar Has No Trouble Against Patrick County

Glenvar won the last time they faced Patrick County and things went their way on Friday too. The Glenvar Highlanders put the hurt on the Patrick County Cougars with a sharp 76-51 victory. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Cougars are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenvar is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Patrick County, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Glenvar will have a chance to go back-to-back against Patrick County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
