Baseball Game Preview: Hillel Academy Heat vs. Geibel Catholic Gators

For the second straight game, Hillel Academy will face off against Geibel Catholic. The Heat are taking a road trip to take on the Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillel Academy has four straight wins, Geibel Catholic has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Hillel Academy earned a 7-3 victory over Geibel Catholic.

Ezra Goldberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Hillel Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dovid Blalock, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Hillel Academy's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Geibel Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
